Poetry Competition Success

Recently Webber entered Year 9 English students into Young Writers' 'The Poetry Trials' competition. We are pleased to announce that three of our students have been successful and will have their poem published in 'The Poetry Trials' - Southern England Anthology.

Congratulations to Rhys Fourie, Ella Neate and Devon Watson whose work was chosen based upon their perception, imagination, expression, creativity and use of language in an Abecedarian poem, a type of acrostic where each line or verse begins with a successive letter of the alphabet.

The book is scheduled to be published in March and will be sent to the British Library and libraries across the UK providing a lasting record of their achievement. There is also a chance for the three students to become a finalist where they will be invited to make a video for The Poetry Trials final. We will keep you posted on this and hopefully we will have a Webber finalist showcasing our excellent writing talent.
