Celebrating Outstanding Exam Results

We are celebrating outstanding GCSE results with 74% of our students achieving the quality benchmark of five or more A* - C grades including Maths and English Language. This is a magnificent achievement for students who range from the extremely able to the more averagely able but committed student, representing a very significant measure of positive value added.

The highest scores, amidst several almost equally impressive results, came from James Baugh who achieved an impressive six A*’s and four A’s.

In the core subjects, a remarkable 95% of students achieved A*-C in Maths; 84% in English Language; with the Science subjects achieving a 95% pass rate across all Science subjects taken, with half of the year group achieving A*-C across all three Sciences, Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Modern Languages entries across four subjects (French, Spanish, German and Latin) achieved a 100% A*-C pass rate, emphasising Webber as a bastion of excellence for Modern and Classical languages in an era of diminishing provision for languages in many schools.

The majority of students have chosen to continue their education within the Sixth Form at Webber. The school had its best ever A-level results this year with a 100% pass rate and 100% of students got into their first choice University. The incoming new Year 12 has further strengthened a very robustly academic A Level study environment.

Principal Sue Vig said: “We are incredibly proud of our students and what they have achieved as they have performed significantly beyond their predicted grades. This is due to a combination of inspirational teaching, academic rigor and positive parental engagement to create a culture of success and an ethos of excellence. We really have Achieved Excellence Together.”
